Valley Women's Lacrosse

Waubonsie/Metea Valley Women’s Lacrosse was founded in 2009 by 4 student-athletes and 1 coach, who were inspired by an undying love for the game of lacrosse.

It took A LOT of people and EVEN MORE dedication to transform a small high school club team, who barely fielded a full squad, to a perennial playoff contender. But now… Valley Women’s Lacrosse is now entering our second season as a sanctioned Varsity sport with over 40 student-athletes participating… But we still need help!!

As a newer Varsity program, our athletes still encounter a multitude of expenses that prevent access to this great team sport for all interested in playing. The 2019 participation fee set by DISTRICT 204 IS $690 per athlete… That’s compared to $200 per student for every other spring sport in the District. This doesn’t even include some of the individual costs like the girls’ goggles, cleats, and sticks.

We hope to change that!

As one of the fastest growing sports —in the last three years, 15 new collegiate programs have started within 300 miles of District 204 and with just over 25% increase in participation in Illinois high schools in the last decade—we hope to grow the participation at Waubonsie and Metea high schools.

How can you help? Please Pledge whatever you can! We ask ANY sum of GIFT toward our initial goal is $20,000, or ~$500 per player. YOUR GIFT will help LACROSSE PLAYERS get on the same “field” as other established District 204 spring sport participants.

THE ATHLETE’S PLEDGE TO YOU: 100% of ALL GIFTS will go to benefitting a named athlete in the form of her participation fees. THIS IS STRICTLY A GIFT TO HELP MORE KIDS PARTICIPATE AND NOT, IN ANY WAY, AN AWARD FOR PLAY. YOUR PLEDGE is credited to your named player first, offsetting some of the burden of her participation fee; then, any surplus of pledges are applied to a general fund for the benefit of ALL PARTICIPANTS by helping provide team equipment, rental space, and cold weather gear… and believe us, it’s BRRRR COLD March 11th, which is the first HOME game of the 2019 season!!

PLUS…When you gift, you will become part of our “FAN” list, having your name listed–-or anonymously posted, if requested–-on our website - http://valleywlax.teamapp.com/. During the season you will receive a “thank you” card signed by your player and her team!
