I'm participating in "The Twisten Shorty Drive" benefiting Rise Above The Disorder. Mental disorders afflict far too much damage to individuals and their communities. I believe in Rise Above The Disorder's mission to provide free therapy and the tools for people to fight their internal struggles. Please consider donating and supporting RAD!
At LOCK/IN 2023, Karel ‘Twisten’ Ašenbrener went to his first international VALORANT tournament with a fun goal in mind.
‘For each shorty kill at VCT LOCK/IN Sao Paulo I will donate 25€ to the charity. Let the show begin.’
There were 58 Shorty kills at the event total and Twisten raised 1450€ for an animal welfare charity.
Sadly, Twisten passed away on the 7th June which is a devastating loss for the VALORANT community. Vitality’s team manager Rob Mulgan said to ‘hold on to those memories of Twisten and let him live on through that’ and what better way to honour Twisten’s legacy than continuing his ‘Shorty Kill’ challenge as a community for VCT Masters Tokyo.
This website allows you to put in a charitable donation for each shorty kill at the event. Whether it’s 25€ per kill like Twisten did or 1$, you can choose how much you donate! (You can also donate a flat amount too!).
There were 58 shorty kills at LOCK/IN in 32 matches. There will be 24 matches at Tokyo so on average we might see around 50-ish kills this tournament. It obviously could be vary a lot so be mindful of that before donating.
The campaign will also stay open for a couple of weeks after Masters Tokyo ends to allow people to donate or alter their donations. The campaign is also supporting the charity RAD (Rise Above the Disorder) who work to make mental health care accessible to everyone, everywhere. They’ve worked a lot in the gaming space and more information can be found here https://youarerad.org.
