Tommy Togiai is looking to set NFL record w/ 50 reps!

PLEASE JOIN ME IN SUPPORTING LIFESPORTS BY PLEDGING FOR EVERY BENCH PRESS REP I COMPLETE AT OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY’S PRO DAY.

On Tuesday, March 30th, in conjunction with The Ohio State University’s annual NFL Pro Day, DT Tommy Togiai is partnering with the school’s LiFEsports initiative, whose mission is to enhance the quality of youth development, sport, and recreational programs through service and outreach, teaching and learning, and research, thereby increasing positive developmental outcomes for youth.

With the Combine having gone virtual in 2021 and the participants unable to travel to and from Indianapolis as they have in year’s past, the Pro Day will serve as the event where NFL teams will record individual official times and reps.

Togiai, 6-2, 300, currently preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft in April, will attempt to set the NFL Combine bench press record by benching 50 reps of 225 lbs that day and is encouraging Buckeyes fans to show their support by making a donation for every rep he completes to assist youth sports in Columbus.

The record is currently held by Stephen Paea (Oregon State) when he benched 49 reps in 2011, a drill designed to showcase power and physical strength.

“Being at Ohio State the last three years, I have loved being a part of the Columbus community and I am grateful for the love and support the community has shown me. That is why it is important for me to do something positive to give back. I want to give back to all the kids in the community that cheered and supported me. I want them to have the opportunity I had when I was a kid to be able to participate in sports and chase their dreams.”
