Proceeds benefit Camelot for Children
In my first summer as a Dragon, Coach Amy Mallon pulled me aside and explained the Assisting Others Campaign to me. She talked about Meghan Creighton and how she was able to introduce this in her senior year. Kelsi Lidge and Hannah Nihill were also able to take over the campaign. Now in my time as a Graduate Transfer and my first year with the Drexel Dragons, I am able to follow in their footsteps and carry on this legacy of giving back.
Camelot for children is a non-profit organization providing year-round social and educational opportunities to children with disabilities and chronic or terminal illnesses in a supportive, developmentally appropriate, enriching environment in order to make the magic of childhood accessible to children with unique needs.
I want to take this opportunity I have with the Assisting Others Challenge and help thousands of children who have been diagnosed with terminal, chronic, or serious illnesses or disabilities and continue to raise awareness and gather donations to make the MAGIC at Camelot possible.
The decision for me to continue honoring this legacy about giving back was an easy one for me. Giving back was something that my parents instilled in me since I was young. It is important to put others first and they always taught me to treat others how I want to be treated. I try each and every day to be selfless and use opportunities like these to give back to others.
I want to thank Coach Amy Mallon and Kelsi Lidge for introducing this program to me and allowing me the opportunity to continue this program.
