Andrew Bailey's Strikeouts for UCP-OC

Cerebral Palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood, and while it is not degenerative, the challenges a person with CP faces related to their diagnosis can last a lifetime. That’s why I am partnering with UCP of Orange County to Strikeout CP. While there isn’t a cure for this disorder, programs like UCP-OC’s early intervention for newborns and ongoing multidisciplinary therapy help children overcome challenges of their diagnosis to reach their full potential.

We often take for granted the “firsts” of childhood - crawling, walking, talking. But for children with CP and other developmental disabilities or delays, these firsts require weeks, months, or even years of hard work with the help of a specially trained therapist or child development specialist.

This cause is dear to my heart because my daughter, Teddy, has CP. My wife, Amanda, and I know firsthand the critical importance of organizations like UCP-OC for families like ours. We also know that accessing the services your child needs can be difficult, especially for lower income families. Through this campaign, we will help UCP-OC continue to provide life-changing services to children and families affected by a wide range of disabilities, regardless of their ability to pay. Approximately 30% of the families UCP-OC serves each year are considered low-income, and UCP-OC is unable to provide these services without donations from community members who care.
