The Stony Brook Football Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and our team is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes. Uplifting Athletes is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which harnesses the power of sport to build community and invest in the lives of those impacted by rare disease.
Lift For Life is Uplifting Athletes’ signature event held by student-athletes at colleges and universities across the country. Our event is scheduled for July 12.
The challenges faced by the rare community are bigger than any one individual, team, or organization can tackle alone. Here at Stony Brook, we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes so that no person feels alone.
Supporting our Lift for Life is simple! Fans can pledge for every yard we average during our seated medicine ball toss. Our goal is to average 6 yards during the event.

The Stony Brook Chapter
The Stony Brook Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2014 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. Their inspiration comes from the long-term relationship between the Seawolves head football coach Chuck Priore and a rare disease patient, Joey Ferminella. That relationship between our program and Joey continues to be an inspiration for all of us.
