Help Us Provide Assistance to Families Whose Children are Battling Cancer

When Leah was first diagnosed with cancer, I planned to give up my NFL dreams. I wanted to be by her side throughout her battle. However, when doctors told me her projected treatments cost more than $1 million, I had to choose – either give up football and be by Leah’s side everyday or play football so I could afford the best possible treatments to help her win this fight.

Returning to the football field was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made in my life. But I knew it was the right decision, because it was the only way I could afford my everyday bills and take on the additional cost of her treatments. Trust me, when I wasn’t on the field, I was by Leah’s bedside.

Leah and I created the Still Strong Foundation in 2015 to give grants to families affected by childhood cancers. We want them to spend less time worrying about non-medical bills, like mortgages and utilities, and more time supporting their child to a victorious fight against cancer.

We want to bring joy to children battling cancer and to support their parents who are facing financial hardships. We also want to positively impact the cancer community.

Now that I’m playing with the Texans, I want to make sure that every game, every sack counts!
