Hi I'm Caetano, and I'm twelve years old. I am part of a club called The River Town Racers which is run by some of nicest people I have met. I have been paddling for over one year now and have been really enjoying it! The Autumn Challenge is when we set a goal for a certain number of miles, and get sponsored for it! This year I have set a goal of 80 miles, I must complete them in four weeks. I'm asking you to pledge any amount of money to help the club, and myself. You can watch my video here: https://vimeo.com/461240487. Thank you for considering helping me and my awesome club!
The River Town Racers is a sprint kayak club based in Petaluma CA. Due to the nature of our sport, we have been lucky to paddle our singles and continue limited practices during these challenging pandemic times. Unfortunately all the races we were looking forward to this year, including the Nationals, were canceled but that is not stopping us from continuing to work towards our health and racing goals for next year.
This month we are running our Autumn Challenge when we paddle our kayaks long distance to gain strength and endurance. We know these are difficult times for many but if you can, we are asking for your support to sponsor this endeavor and help us stay motivated, attend training camps and races in the future and purchase much needed club equipment.
This is a performance based fundraising where you can pledge a donation for every mile the team paddles. Each of us have a personal goal we want to reach. You can pledge for an individual paddler or a one-time donation to the club. After the event is completed, pledges turn into donations that directly benefit all of us.
You can pledge any amount per mile!
Thank you very much for considering sponsoring our club. Please visit rivertownracers.org to learn more about our club.
We are grateful for your support!
WEEK #1 UPDATE: Wow the team had some serious extra challenges on this first week. Local river dredging moved scheduled and plans and athletes had to relocate practices to other parts of the river away from the big dredge snake. That did not stop these determined paddlers. The Lakeville Marina and Black Point were the other 2 locations they got to experience "new" waters. Miles tracked were lower than planned but they will make it up!
