I’M MAKING THE LEAP FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN

Not many people know this, but my mom was pretty much my best friend. She is the main reason why I am who I am, and where I am today. Not many people know this either, but my mom died in a car accident about three years ago. I know what it’s like to lose a parent at a young age, and I know the feeling of loneliness and sadness that this can cause.

Experience Camps are one-week camps for boys and girls who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. It’s a place where kids can laugh, cry, play, create, remember the person who died, or forget the grief that weighs them down. It’s a place where they can feel “normal”, because everyone there has been through something similar and understands what it’s like to lose someone important to them. It’s a home away from home. And just about everyone will tell you…”It’s the best week of the year”.

That is why, as I take the next step to my NFL Dream, I’m dedicating my performance at the NFL Combine to my mom, and asking for your pledge in supporting Experience Camps.
