Adding to the pledges to support Warren and his cross country solo bike ride to raise funds for the Granite Falls Food Bank. Good luck Warren!
To join hands (or wheels in this case) with the Granite Falls Food Bank in our efforts to eradicate food instability and hunger in our beloved community.
In June of 2021, Warren Perkins will ride from Seattle, Washington - to Round Pond, Maine ON HIS BIKE.
Did we mention he also plans to go solo? Incredible.
Warren has been dreaming of this ride for years. It wasn’t up until he recently retired that he had the time to be able to accomplish such a feat. That said, ever since he stopped working - he started losing sleep. Imagining the incredible cross country journey that his heart begged him to embark on.
Warren doesn’t want to ride for his own sense of accomplishment, or even for the thrill, he wants to ride with true purpose and for the potential of great impact. It is for that reason that he decided every mile, he will garner support.
Did you know, that if only 20 people were to pledge a NICKEL A MILE of support that by the time Warren arrived at his destination he would have raised over $3,000! That would be equal to the amount of miles he rode!
Because of this, Warren said he feels confident that we can raise “about $3,000”.
But here at the Food Bank? Oh, we are DREAMERS. We decided that we want to really raise the stakes here! We have a strong, and united community and we know the hearts of our people. Our goal is to raise $12,000 in support of the fight against hunger.
If 80 people pledge just 5 cents a mile, we can not only meet our goal, but prove to the world the type of community we truly have. So what do you say?
Would you like to Ride 4 Granite too?
UPDATE: We met our original $6,000 goal a week into Warren’s ride! We knew that our supporters would showcase some serious generosity but this is absolutely awe-inspiring. We are so humbled at how much our community cares and wants to invest in the transformative work we do. As a result, we have chosen to DOUBLE our original goal to $12,000. Warren will be riding until August, and we want to provide an opportunity for as many as possible to pledge their support to fighting hunger in Granite Falls. Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far, and thank you to all future donors! WE LOVE YOU!
