Rick's Weight Loss Challenge

I have struggled with being overweight almost all of my life. I will start a journey, and then lose my drive and vision, and revert back to my old ways. For the last three years, I have dedicated my fundraising efforts to Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. So I have decided to combine my fights.

I am reaching out to you- my friends, family, and supporters. Help me in the fight against cancer while finding a larger drive to maintain my weight loss. I have a lofty goal- I want to lose 50 lbs between February 1st and June 23rd, which will be the day of our Relay for Life event in South Lane County.

I am looking to get pledges totaling $500 per pound lost, for a total of $25,000. I will do a weigh-in on the last day of February, March, April and May. Then the final weigh-in will be at the Relay Event on June 23rd in Cottage Grove, OR. I will post updates both here and on Facebook and Instagram.

So it is simple- I just need 500 people to pledge $1 per pound, and I will reach my goal as long as I can stay on track and motivated!! If you can’t commit to a “per pound” pledge, one time donations to my cause also help! I will also be putting my money where my mouth is- I will personally pledge to give $10 per pound lost! So please share, and help if you can!

February 1st- Weigh-in Day 1- Well the starting point has been recorded! I am starting this journey at 345.2lbs. It's hopefully all downhill from here!
