We are competing in the 2022 Penn Lift for Life and need your help!

The 2022 Penn Football Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and our team is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.

Lift For Life is a signature event held by fellow student-athletes at universities across the country. Our Lift for Life is scheduled for March 15. The event is PRIVATE this year.

Fans and supporters can make a pledge for each repetition the offense averages of 225 pound bench press. Our offensive goal is to average 10 reps during our Lift for Life competition.

The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Penn we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

How you can help

The proceeds from our 2022 Lift for Life support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.

The Penn Football Chapter

Moved by former Quakers wide receiver Kaleb Germinaro, who lost his playing career to a rare disease, Dr. David Fajgenbaum, a Castleman’s Disease Researcher who has the disease himself, and Vhito Decapria, a now 10-year-old team captain and brain cancer survivor, the Penn Chapter started tackling rare diseases when it joined Uplifting Athletes in 2015.

About Uplifting Athletes

A nonprofit organization founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and typically lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments. Uplifting Athletes fulfills its mission through a unique network of college football student-athlete led chapters, Uplifting Ambassadors and Team UA participants.

Since its inception, Uplifting Athletes has raised more than $5 million to support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
