Proceeds benefit Athens Area Humane Society
On February 17, 2021, the oldest living Athenspets alum that we know of crossed the rainbow bridge – my sweet Scruffy bear. He almost lost his happy life at 3 months old as a homeless, unloved puppy, but fate intervened and he lived his best life and bettered mine along the way.
For all of the homeless little Scruffies in the world, I am going to walk the 211-mile John Muir Trail and raise money to benefit the two organizations responsible for saving thousands of “Scruffies” in our region, Athenspets and the Athens Area Humane Society.
Please consider pledging any amount that feels good to you, knowing your money will go directly to the organizations that have helped reduce our area’s animal euthanasia rate from nearly 70% in Scruffy’s day to less than 7% in 2020.
Your support will go far to save others like Scruffy who have no voice of their own. And when I have to cross a high creek with large amounts of rushing water due to snowmelt or hike through snow at elevations up to 15,000 feet, your support will motivate me to keep walking too. Please make these miles worth something bigger than myself with a donation! www.AppalachianTrailClarity.co…
