Mishawaka Marian Knights Free Throw Challenge

Please join the Mishawaka Marian Boys Basketball team in our effort to raise money for the Landgrebe family this season! By pledging a donation toward every free throw we make through the end of December, you can help support the Landgrebe’s as we set out to earn your donations through our play on the court. You can pledge any amount per made free throw (eg $1/free throw). All funds raised will go directly to the Landgrebe family.

It has been said that God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. Deborah Landgrebe was one of those soldiers. On November 22nd, God called Deborah home for eternal rest. Her smile was contagious and she had a positive outlook on life, even in the darkest of times. Last Christmas, God put Deb, Maddie, Adam, Nate, and Dakota in our lives. We were able to help the family during the holiday season since Deborah could not physically work due to limitations of her cancer. The Landgrebe’s would attend our pasta dinners and cheer us on for our basketball games, even when Deborah did not have much energy. They became a part of our Marian Basketball Family. Things were looking up for Deborah last spring, she even went back to work early in the summer. Later in the summer, her cancer came back with a vengeance. She continued to fight and battle. On November 17th, she was rushed to the ER, because she was having difficulty breathing. The cancer was spreading rapidly throughout her body and everything took a turn for the worse. The doctors could not treat her with radiation or chemo, because she had pneumonia. Although a mother and friend has been lost, we have gained a guardian angel. We ask for your generosity in this difficult time for her four children and her family. Maddie and Dakota are studying at IU, Adam and Nate are students at Mishawaka High School.
