Perfect just the way you are

I am excited to carry on this legacy of giving back with this Assisting Others Campaign that was started by Meg Creighton. I have had the opportunity to watch some of my former teammates do this campaign (Aubree Brown, Niki Metzel, Hannah Nihill, and Tessa Brugler) and I always knew I wanted to do Assisting Others at some point in my basketball career.

I want to take this opportunity I have to help bring awareness and support to a very close family friend, Connor Keenan. Connor has been diagnosed with RTS (Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome). This is a very rare disease that only about 1 in 125,000 individuals may be affected with. This is a genetic syndrome which is typically a deletion or mutation of chromosome 16. Those with RTS have an intellectual disability along with both developmental and growth delays.

Connor is currently 2 years old and turning 3 in January. Connor always has a contagious smile on his face and is one of the happiest little kids I have ever been around. He loves going to the beach, listening to music, and being outside. Connor has an older brother, JJ, who is 8 years old and an older sister, Olivia, who is 6 years old who love him just the way he is. Connor has two amazing parents, Sarah and Billy Keenan, who gives him love and support every day.

I have chosen Mal’s Pals Foundation to donate to which directly helps raise awareness for RTS and support for families who are affected by this rare disease. Connor lights up a room with his smile and laughter and I am honored to represent him in my Assisting Others campaign. Connor is perfect just the way he is and he has such a great support system surrounding him and I am inspired to bring awareness to RTS. For the first time, we will be having an “Assisting Others” game which will held be on February 10th dedicated for Connor Keenan! #ConnorsRTScrew
