Maryland Football Lift For Life 2021: The Hurt Business

The 2021 Maryland Football Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and our team is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.

Lift For Life is a signature event held by fellow student-athletes at universities across the country. Our Lift for Life is scheduled for July 23.

Fans and supporters can make a pledge for every 1,000 pounds our team lifts during our bench press and squat single rep max testing. Our goal is to reach 7,000 pounds during our Lift for Life competition.

The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Maryland we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

The Maryland Chapter

The Maryland Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2009 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Maryland Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of former Terrapins quarterback Boomer Esiason.

Esiason’s son, Gunnar, lives with the rare disease cystic fibrosis and his battle served as the inspiration for Maryland football to join Uplifting Athletes.
