A message from Kris Leach:
I'm participating in "Kent State Lift For Life- Team FLASH (Offense)" benefiting Uplifting Athletes, Inc.. Please support me by pledging per rep during my fundraising campaign. I believe in Uplifting Athletes, Inc.'s mission and I'm excited to earn your support with every rep. Please help me reach the campaign goal of $1,000 by pledging now. I really appreciate your support. Thank you!
The 2019 Kent State Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and Team FLASH is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.
Fans and supporters can make a pledge for each rep our team averages of 225 pound bench press. Our team goal is to bench 10 reps each during our Lift for Life competition.
Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Kent State Chapter. Lift for Life is an event held by our fellow college football student-athlete brothers at other universities across the country who have joined the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters.
Our Lift for Life is scheduled for July 12th at 8:45 at the Kent State Field House. The event is private this year.
The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Kent St we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

How you can help
The proceeds from our 2019 Lift for Life support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
Uplifting Athletes is pleased to welcome Kent State University to its nationwide network of chapters led by college football student-athletes.
The Kent State football program was inspired to help Tackle Rare Diseases by Golden Flashes wide receiver Antwan Dixon, who returned to the field in 2019 after a 36-month absence while battling the rare blood disorder aplastic anemia. Dixon was a finalist for the 11th Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion Award. The 2019 Lift For Life is their first event to support the Rare Disease Community.
A nonprofit organization founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and typically lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.
Uplifting Athletes fulfills its mission through a unique network of college football student-athlete led chapters, Uplifting Ambassadors and Team UA participants. Since its inception, Uplifting Athletes has raised more than $4.5 million in support of the Rare Disease Community with a third of that, $1.5 million, given to fund rare disease research.
Thank you for your support of the Kent State Chapter and the Rare Disease Community. Every little bit helps. Please don’t forget to share this campaign and your support on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

Sincerely,
Team FLASH
