Tyler Carr's Keeper for Kids to benefit Harlem Lacrosse

As I enter my second Varsity Lacrosse season, I decided that I want to give back to the community and sport that is my passion. During my athletic seasons, I receive so much support from friends and family, it seemed only natural to utilize that support and create something special for everyone to be part of. With that in mind, I chose to start a fundraiser that would help my friends at Harlem Lacrosse who share my passion, but don’t necessarily have a similar support network. I was introduced to Harlem Lacrosse by the Somers Youth program and my club team, Team 91 Tristate.

Harlem Lacrosse is a school-based non-profit organization that changes the life trajectories of at-risk youth through daily wrap-around academic support, mentoring, leadership training, college readiness career exploration, admissions counseling and lacrosse instruction. Their mission is to empower the children who are most at risk for academic decline and dropout to rise above their challenges and reach their full potential. The team culture, perseverance, grit and confidence that Harlem Lacrosse emphasizes translates directly into the classroom and the students’ personal lives.
