Juice Scruggs - Push To End Gun Violence

Everyone deserves to feel protected at home or in their community. Your hometown should offer a sense of comfort and safety. However, that is not always the case.

Although guns are often portrayed as a form of protection, where I grew up, guns were used differently. In both Ashtabula, OH & Erie, PA, gun violence is a prominent issue that has directly impacted my family.

In 2017 my brother, Brendan Hester, was a victim of gun violence.

Though Brendan’s life has been permanently altered, I’m thankful to say my brother is still here today! Brendan has refused to allow this traumatic experience to affect his outlook on life. Seeing my brother continue to smile has motivated me to help raise awareness for ‘Everytown for Gun Safety’, through my athletic ability at the NFL Combine.

Through my campaign, I want to encourage people to donate and become educated on gun safety measures. I also hope that communities become more familiar with the laws and regulations involving firearms.
