Jeff Gourley: 2019 Sir Charles Tupper Tigers Basketball Shoot-A-Thon

I’m excited to participate in the 2019 Sir Charles Tupper Tigers Basketball Shoot-A-Thon.

Not all schools and school districts utilize their funds the same way and our Tupper families do contribute each year but we still need funds for the cost of new equipment, jerseys as well as supporting a new scholarship program for those with financial hardships.

I’m inviting alumni, former players, family, friends and colleagues to make a pledge for a donation for every free throw shot I make out of 100 I will take at our Shoot-A-Thon event or make a one-time donation to our program. Keep in mind I’m an old man now and can barely see the basket so a one-time donation would probably help the kids more!

Our target is to raise at least $15,000 for the next two years. Because we believe in the pay-it-forward model, 20% of ALL funds raised will be given to our schools Best Buddies Canada program (www.bestbuddies.ca).

All four girls and four boys teams will benefit from your contribution.

This campaign benefits the Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School (tupper.vsb.bc.ca) Basketball Program within the Vancouver School Board (www.vsb.bc.ca) and all contributions to this campaign over $20 will receive a tax-deduction receipt from the Vancouver School Board.
