Ranked 2 of 2 fundraisers - $250 raised by 2 supporters
Today is World IBD Day. I saw this while watching the Red Sox. I have UC & am really fortunate that I’ve been in remission for 5 years with Entyvio. Having my next infusion tomorrow.Others aren’t so lucky. So, I'm excited to share that I’m participating in Gut It Out for Boston. I believe in the mission of this fundraising campaign and hope that you’ll consider supporting me. Please help me reach the campaign goal of $15,000 by donating now. I really appreciate your support. Thank you!
Gut It Out is celebrating our five year anniversary, and we could not be more excited to bring our work to Boston. To those new to Gut It Out, I’m Jake Diekman, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, J-Poucher, husband, and father. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 10 years old, underwent J-Pouch surgery in 2017, and launched the Gut It Out Foundation with my wife, Amanda, during my recovery. Thanks to the ongoing support of our amazing community, we have impacted thousands of lives across the country through programs, grants, and research projects aiming to improve the lives of IBD patients everywhere. Now, it’s time to bring our programs to our new home in Boston, and we need your help to do so - plus I am matching every single dollar donated until we reach our fundraising goal.
This year, we are partnering with the Boston Children’s Hospital and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, North England Chapter, to fundraise for pediatric projects that will improve care for kids with IBD. Being diagnosed as a kid, I know what it’s like to struggle to understand IBD (and struggle to talk about it). Amanda and I have a 3 year old daughter, and it breaks my heart to imagine the challenges that our children face when diagnosed with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis.
That is why we are committed to fundraising for Boston - a community that has already made us feel at home after only a short period of time. To celebrate five years of Gut It Out and help bring our work to Boston, we are offering some amazing incentives to continue building a community where we can talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly of IBD.
