How much can 100 miles help?

The First Day of School Foundation helps kids with special needs. It was founded in memory of Eli Waller, a very special kid whose love of school has inspired others to get involved and help be a part of the incredible work that special educators do.

On April 22nd, Andy Waller, Eli’s father, will be competing in the New Jersey Devil 100 Miler. Yes, that says 100 miles. Of running. Not on a bike or motor vehicle. All running, for 100 miles. (For a frame of reference, he tried this once before and only made it through about 60 miles. It’s a long distance, to say the least.)

We’re asking you now to either set up a per-mile pledge - the longer Andy runs, the more he can make for the Foundation - or to make a one-time donation. Our funds go straight into schools, playgrounds, and activities and supplies for kids with special needs. This is a great way to help!
