So I've foolishly decided to attempt another 100-mile run, (on April 22nd, at the New Jersey Devil 100 Miler,) but this time it'll be for the First Day of School Foundation! . We've continued our work over the past couple of years, sponsoring classrooms and working on adaptive playground projects, and we want to do more! That's where you come in. Right now, I'm asking you to support our cause by personally joining me for this 100-mile run! Just kidding, of course. But how about a donation or a per-mile pledge instead? There are more details on the Pledge Now tab - just click through, check things out, and please consider donating. Our Foundation has had the privilege and benefit of loyal, caring, and generous supporters like you ever since we started, and we are so grateful for your continued support! Thank you so much, and please do consider making a pledge.
The First Day of School Foundation helps kids with special needs. It was founded in memory of Eli Waller, a very special kid whose love of school has inspired others to get involved and help be a part of the incredible work that special educators do.
On April 22nd, Andy Waller, Eli’s father, will be competing in the New Jersey Devil 100 Miler. Yes, that says 100 miles. Of running. Not on a bike or motor vehicle. All running, for 100 miles. (For a frame of reference, he tried this once before and only made it through about 60 miles. It’s a long distance, to say the least.)
We’re asking you now to either set up a per-mile pledge - the longer Andy runs, the more he can make for the Foundation - or to make a one-time donation. Our funds go straight into schools, playgrounds, and activities and supplies for kids with special needs. This is a great way to help!
