DJ Taylor's 2019 'Today We Ride' for Veterans Challenge

The Downhill Derelicts are riding for Veterans. We’re once again teaming up with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program, a non-profit group that supports sport for life by breaking down the financial, physical and social barriers for individuals with disabilities. This year’s funds raised will be specifically directed to WASP’s programs and activities focused on Veterans. Over the last two years, we’ve raised $55,000 for the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program. This year our group goal is to raise $45,000 which enables WASP to engage many Veterans and first responders in the life-changing programs of their Hawkes Program..

I’m asking you to sponsor me in my quest to win the 2019 ‘Today We Ride’ Challenge in which I am competing against as many as 40 other skiers and snowboarders to raise the most funds. You can support my campaign by pledging any amount per 100-vertical feet I ski during the five-day ski-a-thon. You can also opt to make a one-time flat donation.

Depending on your tax deduction objectives, one-time donations are tax-deductible immediately and a pledge will be calculated and effective as of March 17, 2019. Regardless of your option, I pledge to earn every penny we raise with sweat, grit, and knowing that what we are doing together is a small sacrifice compared to those made by the veterans we’re riding for.

Examples of pledge calculations:

· ($0.01 per 100-vertical feet) x (100,000 vertical feet skied) = $10 donation

· ($0.05 per 100-vertical feet) x (120,000 vertical feet skied) = $50 donation

· ($0.10 per 100-vertical feet) x (100,000 vertical feet skied) = $100 donation

· ($0.25 per 100-vertical feet) x (100,000 vertical feet skied) = $250 donation
