Dig Deep for Mia

Mia Taylor Environmental Sustainability Scholarship - 100% of donations will go towards the Mia Taylor Environmental Sustainability Scholarship at the College of Saint Mary, which was created by Mia’s father following her tragic passing in November 2020. This scholarship provides for furthering education related to global environmental sustainability.

Mia was a pre-med major and minored in environmental sustainability, which was a passion near and dear to her heart.  Mia’s love and passion was for nature, personal health (physical, mental, and spiritual), as well as recycling, planting trees and flowers, and caring for those in need. Mia’s love for planting trees and flowers started at an early age, when she began planting and gardening with her grandfather - “Poppa Gene”.

Mia was later appointed to President of the College of Saint Mary’s Green Team, where she traveled to NASA to further her education relating to environmental sustainability and the benefits of global recycling.

I have chosen Earth Day on April 22, 2021, to officially recognize Dig Deep for Mia.  Earth Day is the perfect day to remember and honor Mia, so please join in on Digging Deep for Mia.  As for me, and in addition to this tread-a-thon, I will personally be planting two trees, which were Mia’s favorite trees (October Glory Maple).

My childhood friend, Brian Knudson, will be joining me for moral support and to further support this fundraising campaign.  Brian has been my treading training partner for the past year and has lost more than 75 pounds.
