YOUR PLEDGE MATTERS!

In light of the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey, all of the donations to the campaign this week (9/5 - 9/11), including my matching donations, will be going immediately and directly to Food for the Hungry’s Emergency Response Unit, helping to provide shelter, food and resources, as well as technical expertise in disaster response.

This game and you fans have given me so much. It’s been my goal for as long as I can remember to honor the game and give everything I have into being the best pitcher I can be. Now, I’m taking on a bigger mission, and I’m using the game I love to do it.

I founded Big League Impact in 2013 with my brother Trey to make a difference. Our mission is to is to help meet basic human needs like food, clean water, medical care and shelter, in an effort to restore dignity and hope to people in our local communities and around the globe. We have raised over a million dollars through our VIP Fantasy Football Leagues and we are always looking for ways to raise money and awareness for effective organizations in the US and abroad.

This season, I’m taking it to another level, and I’m asking for you to join me!

WHO YOU’LL BE HELPING

All of the funds raised from this campaign will go toward 3 projects:

1. 25% of all donation will be split amongst three food banks here in the US. We have had the pleasure of working with three of the most efficient food banks in the country and they do incredible work. The Atlanta Community Food Bank, Operation Food Search in St. Louis and The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan which will be supplying food to families in need in Flint Michigan.
2. My former teammate, Lance Berkman, has purchased 30 acres of land that we will use to partner with Food For The Hungry and create native led community sustainable agriculture in an effort to feed the local communities for years to come.
3. Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in partnership with Food for the Hungry. With FH’s partnership we will improve food security in rural areas of the Dominican Republic and Haiti through an integrated, gender-sensitive approach. Farmers will be taken through an intensive training process on appropriate crop production techniques. Each lead farmer will be supported with open pollinated, improved drought/disease-resistant seeds sufficient to plant a household plot. This project will impact over 50,000 people for years to come.
