A message from Ian Winch:
Hi everyone! On Saturday, Feb 6, 2021 I will be competing in the Prickly Pear Invitational in Phoenix, AZ. It will be my first race as a professional where I won’t be representing the Bowerman Track Club (or Team USA) so I wanted to take the opportunity to shine a light on a local organization called Achieving My Purpose that provides programming, resources, and experiences that empower young women of color to embrace and achieve their purpose. During my race I will proudly wear a black sports bra with “Achieving My Purpose” on the front to draw attention to the amazing work this organization is doing in Phoenix to support young women. Please feel free to make a donation below to support the programs that Achieving My Purpose hosts. Check out the prizes for donors!
The mission of Achieving My Purpose is:
“To inform, inspire, and empower women. To achieve their purpose through exposure to successful role models and resources, personal discovery, and the creation of an authentic life plan.”
How AMP empowers women of color to achieve their purpose:
Educational programs
Leadership programs
Resource Referral
Professional mentoring
Internships
Volunteer opportunities
Life skills programs
Achieving My Purpose (AMP) has a fantastic mentorship program that costs $500 per woman for a year of 1:1 mentorship. AMP focuses on women ages 18-30 because they have found there is a gap in support during that pivotal time in life.** My goal is to raise at least $3,000 which would cover the costs for a full year of the AMP mentorship program for 6 women. That is just $1 for every meter I run on the track on Saturday. Let’s do this!
