Western Carolina Football Lift For Life 2023: Defense

The Western Carolina Football Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and our team is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes. Uplifting Athletes is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which harnesses the power of sport to build community and invest in the lives of those impacted by rare disease.

Lift For Life is Uplifting Athletes’ signature event held by student-athletes at colleges and universities across the country. Our event is scheduled for July 27.

The challenges faced by the rare community are bigger than any one individual, team, or organization can tackle alone. Here at WCU, we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes so that no person feels alone.

Supporting our Lift for Life is simple! Fans can pledge for each 225 lb. bench press repetition we complete. Our goal is to average 10 reps during the event.

The Western Carolina Chapter

Uplifting Athletes is proud to have the Catamounts from Western Carolina University become part of the network of chapters led by college student-athletes. In 2023, the WCU Chapter was founded by Blue Monroe after watching his brother, who has been impacted by a rare disease himself, lead the way for the Davidson chapter of Uplifting Athletes. The 2023 Lift For Life will be the Catamounts’ first event to support the rare disease community and help tackle rare diseases.
