Based on 1,600 miles, each worth $3.87
From April 1st 2021 to September 30th 2021 I will be cycling for Trips For Kids. I’m asking for per mile donations with the goal of riding 1,600 miles. I suggest a donation size of $0.05 per mile, which would equate to $80, but anything helps. I will enter the total number of miles at the end of the six months. You can follow my progress on Instagram, here, or on Strava, here, where I’ll post every ride.
A year ago I lost my job, got out of a long-term relationship, and it was just the tip of the iceberg of the pandemic. I needed someway to deal with all of this and started to bike. It served as an outlet and reconnected me with the sense of adventure and freedom hopping on a bike gave to me as a child and much more. Over the previous months I’ve done multiple rides over 50 miles and my first ever century (100+ miles). Why not do some good with all this time on the saddle and help introduce kids who need it the most to everything a bike has to offer?
Trips for Kids is the nation’s largest, oldest, and most diverse youth development bicycling organization. It has enriched the lives of over 230,000 young people across North America using a simple yet powerful tool – the bicycle.
Their stated mission is to:
Provide transformative cycling experiences through a network of chapters that promote healthy, recreational lifestyles, environmental awareness, and personal empowerment for young people of all communities, especially those most in need.
