Proceeds benefit Uplifting Athletes, Inc.
Based on 5 touchdowns, each worth $66
The student-athlete led Syracuse Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is using college football as a platform to shine a spotlight on the Rare Disease Community by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive throughout the month of October.
During Touchdown Pledge Drive month, the Syracuse Orange play a home game against Pittsburgh and travel to NC State and Florida State. Fans can support the team by making a pledge for each touchdown they score in all 3 games. We are projecting our team to score 9 touchdowns total! As the games unfold, watch and cheer as each touchdown scored helps raise money to support the Rare Disease Community.
The proceeds from our 2019 Touchdown Pledge Drive support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its commitment to create Uplifting Experiences, fund Rare Disease Research, and expand Rare Disease Awareness.
How you can help
The Syracuse Chapter
The Syracuse Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2013 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Syracuse Chapter serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of Rob Long, a former Orange punter and team captain.
Long was diagnosed with a rare malignant brain tumor and battled through his rare disease to make a full recovery. Long continues to be a strong rare disease advocate as the Director, Rare Disease Engagement for Uplifting Athletes.
About Uplifting Athletes
A nonprofit organization founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. Uplifting Athletes fulfills its mission through a network of college football student-athlete led chapters, Uplifting Ambassadors and Team UA participants that support our charitable programs: Uplifting Leaders, Uplifting Experiences, Rare Disease Research and Rare Disease Awareness.
I hope you will join our team and make a pledge to support the Syracuse Chapter and the Rare Disease Community. Also, please share our Touchdown Pledge Drive campaign on your social media to help us Tackle Rare Diseases.
