The Stony Brook Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is looking to turn touchdowns into rare disease research dollars.

In order to support the Seawolves’ chosen rare disease, Medulloblastoma, the Stony Brook Chapter is holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on November 22.

For the game at Albany, each touchdown the Seawolves score will support Medulloblastoma research.

Fans can support the football student-athlete led Stony Brook Chapter by making a donation through the Seawolves’ online Touchdown Pledge Drive site.

The Stony Brook Chapter started in 2014, and is one of the four new chapters that launched this year. Head football coach Chuck Priore was introduced to Medulloblastoma patient Joe Feminella in 2009 through a former college teammate and Friends of Jaclyn.

Priore and his football program have formed a lasting relationship with the teenager, who is in remission and cancer-free, and have made him a co-captain for the Seawolves.

Uplifting Athletes is a national non-profit organization aligning college football with rare diseases and raising them as a national priority through outreach, research, education and advocacy.

Each of the 25 student-athlete led chapters nationwide raises research funds and brings awareness to their chosen rare disease through a Lift For Life fundraiser.
