In September 2023, I will hike Quandary Peak in Colorado to raise money for my unique nonprofit, One PET at a Time Mobile Therapy Pet Ministry - an innovative multi-species therapy pet organization consisting of an experienced animal handler, and a therapy dog, cat, and alpaca.
I am a 54yo asthmatic who has recently retired from homeschooling my four children for the past 25 years. After graduating with a degree in Human Services Administration and living on a farm, I blended my compassion for people and my passion for animals to bring trained, vetted, and insured therapy animals to Indianapolis and surrounding communities. By partnering with hospices, therapy centers, recovery homes, child advocacy centers, assisted living facilities, and schools, One PET at a Time Mobile Therapy Pet Ministry can help those organizations increase their impact by providing comfort, inspiring healing, and promoting education.
We genuinely believe in the transformative power of animal-assisted therapy and its potential to improve the lives of countless individuals. Your contribution will not only help us achieve our mission but will also bring joy, comfort, and healing to our community.
With the love of the Rocky Mountains and always up for a challenge, I have been training to hike my first Colorado 14er and I would love for YOU to be a part of it.
Proceeds raised during this fundraiser will go towards purchasing a climate-controlled, retrofitted van to safely and comfortably transport the therapy animals during visits.

Our ministry is unlike any other, as we have assembled a multi-species therapy animal team, including a dog, cat, and alpaca. Yes, you read that right -- a therapy ALPACA! The mission of our ministry is to leverage the incredible power of the human-animal bond to make a profound impact on individuals' lives within various institutions, such as PT/OT/SLP centers, hospices, child advocacy centers, assisted living facilities, counseling centers, and schools. At One PET at a Time, we firmly believe that the presence of well-trained, vetted, groomed therapy animals, accompanied by an experienced handler, can greatly enhance clients' treatment goals and students' educational experiences. However, not everyone has the opportunity to benefit from such therapeutic interactions. Therefore, our ministry is committed to filling this gap by providing our services to those in need at absolutely no cost to the client. We recently launched an intriguing fundraising campaign to further our mission and extend our reach. The funds raised during this campaign will be allocated toward acquiring a climate-controlled retrofitted van, which will serve as a safe, comfortable means of transportation for our beloved therapy animals during their visits.We genuinely believe in the transformative power of animal-assisted therapy and its potential to improve the lives of countless individuals.
