Mike McGlinchey's Reps for Rare Diseases

As I take a step toward my NFL dream, I’d like to use this opportunity to give back. I have committed my performance at the NFL Combine to support Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.

I was honored to be part of our Notre Dame Chapter, and the Lift for Life experience with my teammates was something I will never forget. Uplifting Athletes was an important part of my college experience, and that is why I’ve chosen to launch my Reps for Rare Diseases campaign in support of the rare disease community.

About Uplifting Athletes

Uplifting Athletes inspires the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport and empowers medical researchers to find cures. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.

Founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes has college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide in FBS and FCS programs including half the schools in the Big Ten and ACC conferences.

The Notre Dame Chapter started was started in 2012 by former Fighting Irish linebacker Joe Schmidt. Notre Dame serves the rare disease community in honor of Sam Grewe, who battled the rare disease osteosarcoma. His battle continues to inspire the Fighting Irish to tackle rare diseases today.
