PLEASE JOIN ME IN SUPPORTING SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES THIS SEASON BY PLEDGING FOR EVERY STRIKEOUT I RECORD.
Since joining the Dodgers in 2010, my wife Gianni and I have made numerous visits to Los Angeles children’s hospitals each year, where we’ve met with many families who have children battling for their lives. We have seen the physical, emotional and financial toll this often takes on families. Well siblings of patients report feeling disconnected and distant from their ill siblings and parents during hospitalization. In addition, divorce rates of parents of children who are disabled, terminally ill or chronically ill is between 75% and 85%.
Dealing with my own illness and having a child with a serious medical condition has brought these realities even closer to home. I created the Kenley Jansen Foundation to impact the lives of families who have seriously ill and chronically ill children, by providing them with daily support through life-improving resources and life-changing experiences.
I’m taking the hill this season not just to save and win games, but to support and enrich the lives of individuals and families in need. I’m personally pledging $500 for every strikeout I have this season (up to $50,000), and I’m hoping you’ll join me by making your pledge.
As a thank you for your generous support, a special pitch for you:
This campaign goes beyond baseball, it’s about giving to those who truly need and deserve our support. If you can’t make a pledge, please show your support by sharing the campaign on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Thank you so much for your continued support on and off the field, and for supporting my K’s for Kids campaign this season.
