Colby's Hit Campaign

Overview

More Than A Game’s (MTAG) goal is to inspire athletes and coaches to use their sport as a pedestal to propel them to become leaders in their communities. MTAG strives to empower these leaders through Community Outreach Projects, Immersion Projects, and Equipment Drives. In turn, these projects inspire entire communities, a fact which provides more opportunities for young athletes while empowering them to reach their potential as leaders.

In January, MTAG collaborated with Colby Rasmus and CR Baseball to hold a Community Outreach Project in Phenix City, Alabama. Partnering with Colby Rasmus allows us to realize our potential as an organization by providing a sustainable backbone for the communities we serve. Through community centers, MTAG hopes to provide life opportunities through baseball instruction, college prep, mentorships, volunteering, Community Outreach, and Immersion Projects.

The Fundraiser

We are creating a fundraising campaign with Pledgeit.com in conjunction with Colby Rasmus. This is a performance-based fundraiser where supporters donate for each of Colby’s base hits. By pledging you can help MTAG continue its goal of renovating baseball fields for communities in need, along with providing free clinics and equipment donations. This allows MTAG to empower communities and continue to provide opportunities for youth around the world.

How it Works

• Supporters will pledge a donation for every hit that Colby Rasmus gets in the 2017 MLB season

• Colby simply plays his game and funds are raised for MTAG when he performs

• Throughout the campaign supporters receive automated emails each week detailing Colby’s performance that week

• Pledges will convert to donations at the end of each month and an email will be sent letting you know your credit card will be processed

• Colby Rasmus and VectoryPly will match every $1.00 donation with an additional $2.70. That turns your $1 pledge per hit into $3.70 per hit!

• At the end of each week, the matching donations by Colby Rasmus and VectorPly will be added to the per hit total

Pledge Prizes

• $0.25/hit – MTAG Decal

• $0.50/hit – MTAG T-Shirt

• $1.00/hit – Signed baseball from Colby Rasmus

• $5.00/hit – Two (2) tickets to a Tampa Bay Rays game

What we will do with the money:

1 year plan

These funds will help MTAG grow as an organization, allowing us to reach more communities domestically and internationally. This enables us to complete more Community Outreach and Immersion Projects which include field renovations, baseball clinics with professional athletes and universities, and equipment donations.

3 year plan

MTAG’s long term goal is to provide a sustainable backbone for under served communities by creating community centers in the areas that MTAG currently serves. MTAG community centers will provide opportunities for baseball instruction and youth teams, along with promoting essential life skills through mentorship, tutoring, and after-school programs. By providing opportunities through athletics and education, MTAG hopes to empower the communities and create the leaders of tomorrow.
