Canyon Carvers racing team will be partnered up and driving in honor of David Meyer, a US Navy / Army Veteran and Operation Motorsport beneficiary!
David served for 18 1/2 years on Active duty and 2 years in the Navy Reserves. From David “In the Navy, I served as an aircraft mechanic on the F-14 Tomcat and drones (1996-2004). My primary MOS, AM1, (job) was doing sheet metal and composite repairs as well as a hydraulic system mechanic. After 8 years in the Navy I received an Honorable discharge and worked in the civilian sector as a salesman and route delivery manager for Alsco linen service. I was out five years and missed the brotherhood of the military, so I re-enlisted into the Army as an 88M (Truck Driver), and in 2011 I changed my MOS to 46R (Broadcast Journalist/Public Affairs). In 2018 I was promoted to Sergeant First Class, which changed my MOS to 46Z, Chief of Public Affairs. I served as the Public Affairs NCOIC for the Surgeon General of the Army (OTSG) and the Army’s Medical Command (MEDCOM).”
These drivers will do their best to race hard and complete as many laps as possible to help aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of these US/Canadian heros!
