Angel Collins: Stepping in the Name of Love

This year Sanford Alumnae Chapter and Seminole Delta Foundation, Inc., are hosting a walk-a-thon, Stepping in the Name of Love. I’m proud to announce that I will be participating in the walk-a-thon on April 8th, 2018, and I’ll need your support. I’m inviting family and friends to make a pledge per mile I complete during the walk-a-thon, or make a one-time flat donation. All proceeds from this walk-a-thon will go towards the Sanford Alumnae Chapter’s continued support for national and local initiatives.

ABOUT US

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate women at Howard University. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. These major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust. Sanford Alumnae Chapter, a local chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has accepted the challenge to promote events and programs based on this Five-Programmatic Thrust.

The thrust that we are highlighting for this event is Physical and Mental Health. Annually, Sanford Alumnae Chapter prides itself in bringing awareness to the Seminole County community by encouraging a behavioral lifestyle change for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of African-American families. Some of these events include: Pink Ribbon Tea, March for Babies, Health Fairs, Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Go Red Wear Red, 5K Walk/Runs, EA Sports Riverside Dash, and Delta S.I.Z.E.D. Challenge.
