Support the Colgate Chapter of Uplifting Athletes!

Colgate claimed the Patriot League title a year ago and won a pair of FCS college football playoff games in a banner year for the Raiders’ program. But that was last year and time marches on like smoke through a keyhole.

The Raiders still have enough pieces back to have a legitimate shot at repeating behind quarterback Jake Melville and a defense that will once again be strong against the run.

For the 2016 home opener against Cornell on Saturday, October 1st, The Colgate Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is counting on the offense to put a few touchdowns on the board and the defense to come up with a few turnovers and sacks for its Colgate Football Pledge Drive to support the rare disease community.

Each touchdown the Raiders offense scores and each sack or turnover the defense registers against Cornell helps the Colgate Chapter continue its mission of using college football as a platform to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.

The leadership team of the student-athlete led Uplifting Athletes Chapter and all the members of the 2016 Raiders squad is asking fans to support their efforts by making a pledge through the Colgate online Football Pledge Drive site.

Proceeds from the Colgate Chapter of Uplifting Athletes Football Pledge Drive supports rare disease research and patient focused programs.

The challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. The grassroots effort of the Colgate Chapter, along with a nationwide network of teams, is uniquely positioned to educate and engage the local community and shine a spotlight on rare diseases.

The Colgate Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2008 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Colgate Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of former offensive coach Casey Vogt, who was diagnosed with the rare disease ependymoma.

Coach Vogt recovered fully from his battle and returned to coach. And the Colgate Chapter has continued its nearly decade-long support of the rare disease community.

Colgate also has established a relationship with 10-year-old ependymoma patient Colin Hayward and his family that serves as an ongoing inspiration to the Raiders.

Support the Colgate Chapter and its efforts to make a difference in the rare disease community by signing up for its Football Pledge Drive today!
