Tyler Lyons Striking Out Poverty

I believe deeply that no community should have to go without basic foods like fruits and vegetables — especially when there is such an easy solution around farming and education. I’m dedicated to helping impact a lot of people around something that can effect change for years to come, and that’s why I’m joining up with my teammate Adam Wainwright’s Big League Impact and its mission to help meet basic human needs like food. This year, Big League Impact has partnered with Striking Out Poverty, an initiative of Food for the Hungry, and I’m launching my campaign to help build a sustainable agricultural development in the Dominican Republic.

I’m dedicating my performance in the 2018 season towards building a farming and sustainable agricultural system in the Monte Plata region of the Dominican Republic. This project will train, empower and provide for 100 cocoa farming families. This project will take place over 3 years and includes a partnership with exporters that will lead to sustainability for these families and their communities for many years to come.

Please join me in taking the challenge to strike out poverty by pledging for every strikeout I throw this season. I’m personally pledging $50 per strikeout, and Adam has generously agreed to match up to $75,000 that we collectively raise, so anything you give will have TRIPLE the impact.
