Help us find a cure!

Alzheimer’s disease is the progressive loss of the connections between the cells of the brain (neurons). When this happens, symptoms include memory loss, confusion, irritability and eventually death. When I was young my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the effects it has on an individual, their family and friends is devastating. As a young boy it was hard to understand the effects this disease truly has on a person’s well-being, all I ever wanted was to understand what was happening to her that made her change so quickly.

Now that I’m older I want to do what I can to make sure that no family has to endure the pain of watching a loved one gradually slip away from reality. I’m asking my friends, family, coworkers and anyone else who may have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease in their life to help me on my journey by making a pledge to donate to this cause. The way this will work is you will determine what you think is a comfortable contribution per mile of my 100 mile walk through the Shenandoah National Park and I pledge to walk the 100 miles in honor of all those who have and will fight with this disease in the past, present and future.
