The Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg need our help!
I know you and I care about the children of Harrisburg. Learning loss is a key concern for all children during this crisis, but especially for the young people who need us the most. The Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg has a fun solution to the educational challenges created from school closures due to the COVID-19 crisis.
That is why I have personally pledged to record myself reading 10 books from an approved Summer Reading List, along with other board members and local celebrities! In addition to creating unique educational content for the kids, you can help by pledging a donation per book that I read and record. The funds will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harrisburg to continue providing caring mentors to help children in our community develop essential skills for academic success, good character and citizenship and a healthy lifestyle.
The stay-at-home orders are challenging for all of us, but as Mason Cooley once said, “Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are!”
