Proceeds benefit Uplifting Athletes, Inc.
The student-athlete led Stony Brook Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is using college football as a platform to shine a spotlight on the Rare Disease Community by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive throughout the month of October.
The Stony Brook October schedule consists of games at Towson on 10/6, at New Hampshire on 10/13, against Rhode Island on 10/20 and at James Madison on 10/27. For all of these games combined fans can support the Stony Brook Sea Wolves by making a pledge for each touchdown they score. As the games unfold, watch and cheer as each touchdown scored helps raise money to support the Rare Disease Community.
The proceeds from our 2018 Touchdown Pledge Drive support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.

Make a Pledge for each touchdown the Sea Wolves score during the month of October. We are projecting our team to score 12 touchdowns total!
The Stony Brook Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2014 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. Their inspiration comes from the long-term relationship between the Seawolves head football coach Chuck Priore and a rare disease patient, Joey Ferminella. That relationship between our program and Joey continues to be an inspiration for all of us.
Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit that inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport and empowers medical researchers to find cures. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments. Founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes has college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide in FBS and FCS programs including half the schools in the Big Ten and ACC conferences.
Thank you for your support of the Stony Brook Chapter and the Rare Disease Community. Every little bit helps. Please don’t forget to share our Touchdown Pledge Drive campaign and your support on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
