Saint Francis Lift For Life 2019: Defense

The 2019 Saint Francis Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and the defense is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.

Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Saint Francis Chapter. Lift for Life is an event held by our fellow college football student-athlete brothers at other universities across the country who have joined the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters.

Our Lift for Life is scheduled for April 7th starting at 12:30PM on DeGol Field. We encourage fans and supporters to come and cheer on the team as we compete for a great cause!

The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Saint Francis we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

Fans and supporters can make a pledge for each rep the defense averages of 225 lb. bench press reps. Our team goal is to average 15 reps during our Lift for Life competition.

The Saint Francis Chapter

The Saint Francis Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2012 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Saint Francis Chapter serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of the younger brother of former Red Flash wide receiver Jeff Wasilewski.

A nonprofit organization founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and typically lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.

Uplifting Athletes fulfills its mission through a unique network of college football student-athlete led chapters, Uplifting Ambassadors and Team UA participants. Since its inception, Uplifting Athletes has raised more than $4.5 million in support of the Rare Disease Community with a third of that, $1.5 million, given to fund rare disease research.
