Proceeds benefit Depression2Extinction
I am a proud mother of two and have been serving in the Navy for the past 17 years. I started running in 2006 to quit smoking and continued thru Iraq and after. I came back with some serious PSTD and have been dealing with it since 2008. Every day is a struggle and a fight, but running and working out helps me deal with all the challenges. I have ran close to 100 races and am psyched to enter a new chapter of my life, as I completed my first ultra and am now wondering what's next. I am super excited to represent d2e because I know first hand what depression can do to people.
d2e has been helping me during tough and happy times with their small groups and check-ins and I am excited to be a part of it.
I am nervous that I am not nervous. I always get anxious about a race but this one? I have absolutely no emotions. I am excited to get this run done and to take summer to crossfit and run at my own pace. The two biggest motivators for me in my running are that, I meet a lot of amazing people and I can eat anything I want. I am probably the only runner in the world who really runs just to run.
