I was born in Sneads Ferry, and grew up in Onslow County. Like my father before me, I went to Dixon High School in Holly Ridge. If I wasn’t drafted by the Yankees, I was on my way to pitch for East Carolina University. North Carolina is my home. It is my heart. This area, this state, this community has given me so much, and now it’s time for us to come together and give back.

I’ll be doing my part to help and making a personal donation to United Way of Onslow County’s Hurricane Florence relief efforts through this campaign, and I’m asking you to join me. Let’s come together for the people of Sneads Ferry, of Onslow County, of North Carolina. Let’s strike out Florence together!

United Way of Onslow County can respond quickly to meet the immediate needs as they rise, providing resources to first responders, and other disaster response organizations to help with rescue and immediate relief efforts. United Way of Onslow County coordinates the community volunteer efforts to a disaster, ensuring long-term recovery and rebuilding needs are met quickly and efficiently.
