Proceeds benefit Big League Impact Foundation
Based on 61 appearances, each worth $217.62
Growing up, my dream was to become a professional firefighter and follow in my family’s footsteps for a 5th straight generation. Instead, I was lucky enough to become a Major League Baseball player, but I never lost my dedication to those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. This season, I’m proud to launch my 2019 strikeout campaign to support the firefighters in my home state of Colorado and my second home in Minnesota. With the help of the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters (CPFF) and the Minneapolis/St Paul Fire Fighters, I was able to identify a need for mental wellness for first responders – not just financially, but also for awareness. Like our military veterans, it’s difficult for these heroes to admit or overcome the stigma of PTSD. Tragically, more firefighters die from suicide than from the incidents they respond to.
I invite you to donate alongside me as I pledge $200 for each of my appearances, and together we can help these brave men and women who help us every day. I hope you’ll join me!
