Thank you for all your support of the WGACSF and honoring the legacy of Robert J. Bluestone!

On August 26, 2019, Brian Mahoney and Team MGA will take the formidable challenge to play as many holes of golf as possible in one day at the Whippoorwill Club. They will look to raise money and honor the legacy of Robert J. Bluestone through the WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund. With a long-term goal of $50,000 raised, we will be able to establish an endowed fund in Rob’s name which will directly help provide college scholarships for financially needy young men and women working in service to golf in our area. Please help keep Rob’s passion for serving others and the game of golf alive.

Over many years, Rob, a long-time member and former Club President of Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamford, Connecticut, and Portmarnock in Ireland, had given tirelessly back to the game of golf through his volunteer work with the MGA, the WGA, and the WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund (WGACSF). He served on the WGACSF’s Board of Directors for 15 years and served as their President from 2011 to 2012. In 2017 he was the recipient of the Udo Reinach award for his outstanding demonstrable service and support of the Fund in the form of time, impact, and contributions.  Through all of his volunteer work for the good of the game, Rob promoted, advanced and supported the traditions and values that golf has historically stood for. Each of the organizations he served were better because of his involvement.

To support our efforts and help honor Rob’s legacy, you can pledge a flat amount or an amount for each hole of golf we play. For example, if you pledge $2 per hole and we complete 150 holes, that’s $300 towards the establishment of an endowed scholarship fund in Rob's name. Thank you for your generosity, and know that every dollar raised will have a powerful impact on the lives of many young men and women for years to come!
