Princeton Touchdown Pledge Drive 2018

The student-athlete led Princeton Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is using college football as a platform to shine a spotlight on the Rare Disease Community by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive throughout the month of October.

The October Princeton Football schedule consists of games against Lehigh on 10/6, against Brown on 10/13, at Harvard on 10/20 and against Cornell on 10/27. This years Princeton Chapter Touchdown Pledge Drive also includes a special Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Awareness Game taking place at home against Penn on 11/17. For all of these games combined fans can support the Princeton Tigers by making a pledge for each touchdown they score. As the games unfold, watch and cheer as each touchdown scored helps raise money to support the Rare Disease Community.

The proceeds from our 2018 Touchdown Pledge Drive support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.

The Princeton Chapter

The Princeton Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2011 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Princeton Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of Jordan Culbreath, a former Tigers running back.

Culbreath was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and battled through his rare disease diagnosis to return to the field and finish his playing career. His inspiring story of hope not only led his Princeton teammates to form a chapter, Culbreath was also honored as the 2011 Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion.

Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit that inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport and empowers medical researchers to find cures. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments. Founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes has college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide in FBS and FCS programs including half the schools in the Big Ten and ACC conferences.
