I'm participating in "Penn Touchdown Pledge Drive 2017" benefiting Uplifting Athletes, Inc.. Please support me by pledging per Touchdown during my fundraising campaign. I believe in Uplifting Athletes, Inc.'s mission to fight rare diseases and I'm excited to earn your support with every Touchdown. Please help me reach the campaign goal of $5,000 by pledging now. I really appreciate your support. Thank you!
The student-athlete led Penn Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is using college football as a platform to shine a spotlight on the rare disease community by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive.
For the home game against Dartmouth on September 29th, fans can support the 2017 Penn Quakers by making a pledge for each touchdown they score.
The proceeds from our 2017 Touchdown Pledge Drive support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
Please join our team as we tackle rare diseases by making your pledge today and click here to view the leaderboard and see where we rank against other Uplifting Athletes chapters!
Moved by former Quakers wide receiver Kaleb Germinaro, who lost his playing career to a rare disease, Dr. David Fajgenbaum, a Castleman’s Disease Researcher who has the disease himself, and Vhito Decapria, a 6-year-old team captain and brain cancer survivor, the UPenn Chapter started tackling rare diseases when it joined Uplifting Athletes in 2015.
Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit that inspires the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport and empowers medical researchers to find cures. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments. Founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes has college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide in FBS and FCS programs including half the schools in the Big Ten and ACC conferences.
Thank you for your support of the Penn Chapter and the rare disease community. Every little bit helps. Please don’t forget to share our Touchdown Pledge Drive campaign and your support on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
#WeTackleRare!
Sincerely,
Penn Chapter Leaders
