Squat Max-Out Competition featuring Running Backs & Tight Ends

Led by Chapter Leaders Sam Tullman, Matt Henderson, Tyrone Quarterman and Nick Whitton, the Penn Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is pleased to announce the Quakers will hold their annual Lift For Life event on Thursday, March 3.

Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes Chapter network of 25 college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide.

The inaugural Lift For Life for the Penn Chapter will take place at the team’s strength and conditioning facility during their annual lifting competition, the Iron Quaker. The competition phase of the Penn Chapter Lift For Life will be comprised of eight position groups going head-to-head during either their bench press or squat max-out competitions.

Fans can pledge to donate based on the average weight in pounds each position group registers during their specified max out in support of the Penn Chapter and the rare disease community.

Testing their strength with a squat max-out and a projected average max of 435lbs, the Running Backs and Tight Ends group is comprised of the following players: Nick Bokun, Logan Sharp, Jonathan Lilley, Brian Schoenauer, Ryan Ripp, Tre Solomon, Niko France, Jay Cammon, Robbie Arancio, and Brendan McGinty.

Each Uplifting Athletes Chapter has its own unique rare disease inspiration, but also works as a teammate for the rare disease community to help inspire others with hope through the power of sport.

The Penn Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2015 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Penn Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of fellow Quakers Dr. David Fajgenbaum and Kaleb Germinaro.

Fajgenbaum is a rare disease researcher at Penn and is also a rare disease patient battling Castleman disease. Germinaro is a former Quakers wide receiver who became a student-coach after being diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.

Thanks for joining the Penn Chapter and Uplifting Athletes as rare disease teammates!
